First of all, I LOVE gifting travel. I personally love gifting experiences and opportunities to make memories versus gifting things.
Now, if you’re the spontaneous type or you love a big gesture, a trip could be the perfect thing to put under the tree.
Here are 3 things to consider to make sure your gift goes off without a hitch:
Is it possible to keep things open-ended? Unless you’re 100% sure someone can depart on the exact dates you decide, it’s worthwhile keeping things flexible, just in case.
You may want to forgo pre-booking something together. Instead, gift a token that represents the trip, like a map, brochure, or travel-related items, and then allow the person you’re gifting to plan the trip.
Sometimes it’s not the trip, it’s the journey. You may want to make the person you’re gifting a part of the travel planning process.
Happy Christmas (can I say that yet?)
