Dog Sledding on the Iditarod Trail in Alaska, USA

Meet the intrepid mushers and their dog teams and try your hand at dog sledding! Dog sledding has been around since the early 1900s, and there’s no better place to give it a go than on the world-famous Iditarod Trail in Alaska. This 1,100-mile wilderness adventure is filled with breath taking landscapes, picturesque forests and rugged terrain – making it perfect for a thrilling dog sledding expedition!

Part of what makes this experience so unique is that you’ll be teaming up with some of the most stubborn yet loyal dogs out there – Alaskan huskies. A typical journey on the Iditarod Trail can take anywhere from 10 days to two weeks and during that time, you and your furry companions will be travelling through some of the most remote parts of Alaska. You’ll spend your days weaving through frozen lakes, climbing steep inclines and navigating around icy patches – all while admiring stunning views of snow-capped mountains, meandering rivers and endless valleys.

Or if that's too much for you, cheer the experts on at the start of the race where they tackle this incredible 1,000-mile journey in a bid to become an Iditarod dog sledging champion.

While there, explore Talkeetna, a quirky town in the shadow of Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America. Head out in search of the immensely beautiful, almost ethereal Northern Lights.

Combine all of this with the chance to meet the proud locals and a breath-taking journey on the iconic Alaskan Railroad. Pack your bags, grab your furry friends, and get ready for an incredible journey down the legendary Iditarod Trail!
